Did you know that the BEST time to travel is between Thanksgiving and Christmas? While these four weeks are notoriously slow for the hospitality industry, travelers benefit from discounts, upgrades, and far less crowded venues.
Take advantage of our giveaway starting now until December 22nd: Book two consecutive nights at the Inn and we will sweeten your stay with our Glencairn Homemade goodies! Take home a goodie bag of homemade granola, homemade jam, and notecards from scenes on our property as a thank you for staying with us!
Looking for reasons to travel to Central New Jersey?
Crossing the Delaware Reenactment
Witness this reenactment of Washington crossing the Delaware River! You have two opportunities: The rehearsal on Sunday, December 11 and the actual memorial ceremony on Christmas Day. Want more history? Visit the Old Barracks Museum in Trenton.
Hiking (or Strolling) through Mercer County
Mercer County is full of gorgeous walking and hiking paths. Two of our favorites include the D&R Canal Trail and the Lawrence-Hopewell Trail. The D&R Canal Trail is comprised of nearly 80 miles of trails from New Brunswick to Trenton. The Lawrence-Hopewell Trail (LHT) is a 20 mile circle loop with multiple access points in and around those two charming towns.
Shopping for the Holidays
After exploring the shops in Princeton, try something a little different and head over to Peddler's Village in Bucks County for over 60 shops and restaurants along with some festive Holiday lights!
Covered Bridge Tour
Speaking of Bucks County, there are some beautiful covered bridges scattered throughout the area. We have an extensive list at the Inn for a leisurely driving tour of these rare gems!
Wine Tasting Trail
New Jersey wines have come a long way! Taste for yourself: In just 35 minutes of travel time you can visit five distinct vineyards that exemplify why neighboring Hunterdon County is being called the "Napa Valley" of New Jersey.
Small Town Hopping
Central New Jersey is chalk full of charming small towns. Consider checking out the coffee shops, restaurants, and shops in Hopewell, Cranbury, and Clinton. And don't forget the river towns on either side of the Delaware like Lambertville, Frenchtown, and New Hope. Is the beach your jam? We are only a short 45 minute drive to shore towns Belmar, Spring Lake, and Sea Girt.
Read a Book
Exhausted and overwhelmed by all the possibilities? Throw out the list and enjoy a good book in the Great Room with a glass of red wine or hot cocoa with marshmallows!
